I’m sure many of you out there who, just like me, do not have the sharpest of eyesight and are curious to know if the full face snorkel mask will work while wearing your prescription glasses. Read on to find out!
SNORKELING WITH GLASSES
Will the SharkLens full face snorkel mask work while wearing glasses? To be honest, no you cannot wear your glasses while trying to snorkel with the full face snorkel mask. Unfortunately there’s no way the full face snorkel mask will work when wearing glasses. The mask is designed to be tightly sealed against the user’s face and for that reason, wearing glasses will prevent the mask from performing at its best as it will create a space between the side of the face and the silicone skirt lining of the snorkel mask which will then let water enter the mask.
However, don’t let that deter you from enjoying one of these awesome snorkeling masks. We have some suggestions below that we think might help you enjoy the full face snorkel mask!
SUGGESTIONS FOR SNORKELERS WHO WEAR GLASSES
You might not have perfect vision but regardless of not being able to wear your prescription glasses with the full face snorkel mask, there are several options that we think can help you still enjoy your snorkeling experiences! Here are a few of our suggestions:
1. WEAR CONTACT LENSES
Contact lenses, we all know are very convenient and it’s glasses free! If you are planning to just do recreational snorkeling then this could work for you. The full face snorkel mask rarely if ever leaks and your entire face will remain dry so you don’t have to worry about potentially losing your contact lenses.
2. TRY PRESCRIPTION GOGGLES
Don’t have contact lenses? Or just scared of using them in the water? Try getting a prescription goggles for yourself that has rubber or silicone strap that goes around your head. This way, don’t have to worry about the potential hassle of contact lenses. This option might actually work best for kids who love snorkeling as well. Just a tip, SharkLens is actually one of the few that offer XS size full face snorkel mask for our young snorkelers out there!
